Bike celebrations the 15th July
On the 15th July, Brides-les-Bains celebrates its fête du vélo and the start of a cycling-filled summer.
Join us at 2pm for a flexible start time of a timed Montée de Pralognan, 25.8 km long to discover the Vanoise, the ascent has a positive vertical drop of almost 569 m.
At the highest point, 1408 m above sea level, you'll be able to enjoy the view of the surrounding countryside and village.
The Gran Fondo cyclosportive 16th July
The Gran Fondo cyclosportive is back for its 4th edition. departing from Brides-les-Bains the 16th july 2023. Cycle in the tracks of the Tour de France’s cyclists and climb the 2304m of the Col de la Loze, a great build up to the Tour passing through the village on the 18th July. Departure will take place at 7h30am at place du Centenaire de Brides-les-Bains, where the band Makash Waloo will be giving a short concert to cheer on the participants.
Over 240 kilometres, split in 4 routes to choose from, the most seasoned as well as the amateurs have the opportunity to challenge themselves. Everyone can experience the vertical drop feeling. The 117km long « Ultimate » route with its 4377m vertical drop is recommended for seasoned cyclists only. The 30km long « loisir » route with its 741m vertical drop however is suitable to all, families, spa goers, anyone who fancies taking part in the event and marvel at the beauty of Parc de la Vanoise. To spice things up a little, routes will be timed and there will be a podium at the parc thermal from 4.40pm to 5.30pm.
The greater the effort, the sweeter the reward! A Pasta Party is organised for participants and volunteers from 12h30. Veggie options available. A fun time to bring everyone together and share a meal !
To finish off this cycling weekend, a giant croziflette fit for 250 people will be served up from 5pm. There will also be a great concert guinguette and ballroom dance style. The band Amity Rock will close the evening with a concert until 10pm.

L’ Ascension du Tour 17th July
From 10am, come and experience the Ascension du Tour in Brides-les-Bains. The event, sponsored by sports journalist Laurent Jalabert and organized by Courchevel Sports Outdoor, will take place in the town center. The resort is hosting the 17th stage this year.
A great challenge with over 5,000 m vertical drop to overcome, starting in Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc, before passing through Brides-les-Bains on the last 35 m of the race with the Ascension of the Col de la Loze and its famous 2,304 m of vertical drop to reach Courchevel and its altiport run at 18%.
Come and measure yourself up to this famous hors-catégorie ascent, put yourself in the shoes of the professional cyclists ahead of the Tour de France riders in what promises to be a hard-fought stage!
Inspired by the stage du Tour, the Ascension du Tour takes place during the rest day and 2 days prior to the arrival of the Tour riders, an essential prelude for all Tour de France fans!
The Tour de France 19 & 20th July
On the 19th July 2023, Brides-les-Bains will live in the rhythm of the 110th stage of the Tour de France. Between Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc and Courchevel, a stage that could be decisive for the Yellow Jersey, the riders will tackle the Col de la Loze for the first time, with a vertical drop of 2304m, starting from Brides-Les-Bains.
The 17th stage of the Tour de France will see the riders pass through Brides-les-Bains. To celebrate the event, from 1:30pm onwards in the Place du Centenaire, a DJ accompanied by Phil Lemon will perform, to set the pace for the passage of the traditional Tour Caravan and its distribution of goodies from partner brands, and the parade of sponsored trucks. The atmosphere will be incredible for the passage of the riders, expected between 1.30pm and 5pm. After the athletes have passed through, Phil Lemon offers a musical start to an evening then packed with entertainment until 7pm.
The Olympe and Saulire 1 cable cars will be open from 9.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. from Brides-les-Bains on 19th July, to take the riders up to the Col de la Loze. Access for a fee.
The start of the 18th stage of the Tour, on 20th July, will be given in Moutiers, a neighbouring village to Brides-les-Bains, at around 1pm. The riders will be heading for Bourg-en-Bresse for the rest of the competition. To mark the occasion, a free shuttle service will run between Brides-les-Bains and Moûtiers from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., enabling locals and tourists to watch the start of the stage.
As the base camp for the 17th and 18th stages, Brides-les-Bains is getting ready to welcome tourists and fans alike in a festive atmosphere that celebrates cycling. To mark the occasion, the entire week will be filled with cycling events such as the Gran Fondo on the Col de la Loze, as well as concerts and events organised by the Office du Tourisme.
