The Gran Fondo cyclosportive 16th July
The Gran Fondo cyclosportive is back for its 4th edition. departing from Brides-les-Bains the 16th july 2023. Cycle in the tracks of the Tour de France’s cyclists and climb the 2304m of the Col de la Loze, a great build up to the Tour passing through the village on the 18th July. Departure will take place at 7h30am at place du Centenaire de Brides-les-Bains, where the band Makash Waloo will be giving a short concert to cheer on the participants.
Over 240 kilometres, split in 4 routes to choose from, the most seasoned as well as the amateurs have the opportunity to challenge themselves. Everyone can experience the vertical drop feeling. The 117km long « Ultimate » route with its 4377m vertical drop is recommended for seasoned cyclists only. The 30km long « loisir » route with its 741m vertical drop however is suitable to all, families, spa goers, anyone who fancies taking part in the event and marvel at the beauty of Parc de la Vanoise. To spice things up a little, routes will be timed and there will be a podium at the parc thermal from 4.40pm to 5.30pm.
The greater the effort, the sweeter the reward! A Pasta Party is organised for participants and volunteers from 12h30. Veggie options available. A fun time to bring everyone together and share a meal !
To finish off this cycling weekend, a giant croziflette fit for 250 people will be served up from 5pm. There will also be a great concert guinguette and ballroom dance style. The band Amity Rock will close the evening with a concert until 10pm.

Gran Fondo Col de la Loze
In the heart of the 3-Valleys area, the Col de la Loze links the resorts of Méribel and Courchevel.
At an altitude of 2,304 m, it's only accessible by bike or on foot.
Well known for its difficulty level, the ascent can be made via the slopes of Méribel or Courchevel (the more accessible option).
The Col de la Loze was the playground of cycling pros at the Tour de l’Avenir in 2019, a legendary stage at the 2020 Tour de France and seems to be on the bucket list of an ever-increasing number of cycling enthusiasts.
Departing from Brides-les-Bains, the route takes you just over 22 kilometres towards the Col de la Loze (featuring 1,715 metres of elevation with some sections having a 20% gradient!).
The local authority has held the “Gran Fondo Col de la Loze” cycling sportive every summer since 2020.
Featuring various race formats, access to e-bikes and staggered start options for women, this extraordinary challenge combines a love of cycling with the most stunning scenery.
